Triple S Communications is comprised of a highly-experienced team of individuals that work collaboratively with clients to achieve results.  Their professional experiences are diverse and complement each other to provide a wide-range of media services.

Mark Whittle – Managing Director

Mark has held senior communications positions for the Football Association, BBC and ITV. He started his professional PR career as an intern at Downing Street during the Tony Blair premiership before forming Triple S Communications with Triple S Group MD Paul Stretford in 2016.

He has unique media experiences from board to grassroots level, celebrities to charity work. Specialist areas of expertise include fully integrated marketing and communications campaigns, financial and corporate intelligence, high-profile reputation management and crisis communications.

Niall Malone – Senior PR Executive

Niall’s first exposure to the sports industry was in Tottenham Hotspur FC’s Supporter Services department where he helped with plans for the club’s 2008 Carling Cup victory over Chelsea, at Wembley. From here he joined AFC Bournemouth as a Press Officer during Eddie Howe’s first stint in charge before assisting with the Vancouver Whitecaps’ media strategy in their debut MLS season. On returning to the UK, Niall joined the Football Foundation – the Premier League and FA-funded grassroots facilities organisation – where he spent more than five years managing the press office.

Joe McLoughlin – Head of Digital

Joe has worked for the Triple S group for almost ten years. He is responsible for all things digital across the group, from website design, to content creation, to social media.

He has overseen the launch of a number of websites including Wayne Rooney’s official website and the Triple S Group website. Joe has worked on many global commercial and digital campaigns, including the successful Invictus Games Racing and Soccer Aid for Unicef 2018 launches.

Lewis Hannam – Global Social Media Consultant

Lewis is the founder of Triple S Group company Red Lantern, a digital media company specialising in connecting sports brands to the Asian market.

Lewis is a former Channel 4 News journalist and was Newspaper Society Journalist of the Year in 2006.  He first started working in social media at the 2006 General Election and has worked in the industry ever since.

Zhe Ji – Digital Media Sports Specialist

Zhe is a director at Red Lantern and responsible for global business development of their operations in the UK and China. He is fully bilingual and divides his time between London and Beijing.  He was educated in the UK, having moved from China at the age of 10.  He has a diverse business background that ranges from the United Nations to Deutsche Bank.

Zhe advises Triple S Communications on sport and entertainment digital market trends in the UK and internationally.

Steve Jones – Head of Social Media

Steve has worked in digital sport for more than ten years with content production and strategy roles embedded in the senior England Rugby and England Cricket teams. This was followed by leading the Clubs team as Vice President at football video platform Dugout and a series of high-profile projects for LiveWire Sport, including the Premier League, Guinness Six Nations and O2. He has a unique blend of governing body and commercial sports experience, with proficient skills in content production, social media strategy and delivery, data analysis and senior stakeholder engagement. 

Harry Simmons – PR Manager

Harry has worked in a variety of communications roles, both in-house and agency side. He has extensive experience working with football clubs, having taken up roles with Coventry City, Leicester City and Mansfield Town. Previous to this, he worked alongside Niall at the Football Foundation. Outside of football, he worked on the digital activation of UPS’ sponsorship of the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team as well as acting as Global Press Officer for Formula E.  His experience extends from traditional PR and media management to social media and design.
